At 09 : 55, Bryant's Group 2 entered Fire Support Area 2.

On 29 January " Pilot " swept a new fire support area, despite fire from the beach.

On 9 July, she took up her position in the fire support area off beach Red, near the Torre di Gaffe beach.

Relieved by on 5 March, the destroyer headed for the northern fire support area of I Corps zone where she conducted one fire support mission on 8 March.

For the balance of February and into March, " Bryant " patrolled her fire support area lashing out at enemy targets when needed and occasionally acting as a radar picket.

At 11 : 55 the minesweepers of Unit 1 ( the 9th MSF ) made their turn to sweep Fire Support Area 3, closely followed by the bombarding ships of group 1.

At 12 : 20, Group 1 destroyers laid smoke to protect the heavy ships in Fire Support Area 3, then closed nearer to the shore to gain more effective fire on the Querqueville battery.

On the morning of D-Day, 6 June 1944 she maneuvered into the fire support area as a unit of Admiral Don P . Moon's Assault Force " U " for Utah Beach.

She observed several planes crashing around 2325, and a large fire burning to south of Biscari . " Beatty " screened the southeastern flank of the transport area until they anchored offshore in their assigned zone, and then took her station in her fire support area.
